As the year comes steadily to an end, we reflect on an amazing year and the incredible projects we’ve had the pleasure to work on…
Patrick
2021 has been a year of steady growth in the ‘Platinum Studio’ with some bigger EP projects like The Omaha Court’s upcoming debut album and, Fr Mark Baumgarten’s soon to be released 16 track album ‘Now And Not Yet’. Of course we can’t forget Marc Bangs cool double single ‘Cavern Girl’ and ‘Drag Me Back To Hell’, released this year.
On the production side, one of my favourite projects was co-writing 2 Pop/EDM songs for movie ‘It Only Takes A Night’ currently in negotiations with a US paid TV service. We were overjoyed to be involved in the writing production and recording of both the tracks.
2022 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Artisan Music. The business has evolved over the year, thanks to our rebrand and new website… As a result we have plans to introduce new services, pricing structures and an equipment upgrade to the studios. Simon
2021 has been such a great year for us in the studio. Building our profile as a reputable studio in the WA Music scene has been a thrilling adventure over this year, as well as building our clientele and gear list! Starting this year as a recording engineer, I was excited to be deep into projects from the recording aspect. But as the year progressed, I found myself learning more about production, mixing and mastering. I’ve now had the experience to mix a number of EPs, as well as some basic mastering for numerous clients.
One of my more memorable moments of the year has been working with Alternative/Indie Rock musician, Liam Richards on his upcoming EP. I was able to play the role of recording engineer, co-producer and mix engineer for the project. The most exciting part (for me) was hearing my mix come alive after sending it off to a professional mastering engineer!
I’ve been so lucky to be part of most of the largest projects we’ve worked on throughout the year, such as; The Omaha Court, Marc Bangs, Mikel Capri, Fr Mark Baumgarten and Liam Richards, to name a few. Whether I’m behind the desk as the recording engineer, making production or mic placement decisions, or in the studio as the mix engineer, I’ve had some of the best fun, laughs and most incredible experiences in 2021.

I am proud to report that I survived my first year at Artisan Music! In March of 2021 I was hired to replace my girl-friend Laura as the Bookings Manager. As the role evolved, my main task became elevating the online presence of the business. For five months I worked closely with our website developer to rebrand the business and create content for the new website. Spearheading the rebrand and website project was an invaluable learning experience, which has opened many doors for me to work with our website developer on other projects outside of Artisan, independently. I am really proud of the work accomplished in a short year and look forward to helping Patrick and Simon grow the business in the future.
Piano Tuning Services
The piano department’s been going strong and steady with regular tunings, grand regulation and maintenance bookings every day! Our hardworking piano tuners Patrick (north of the river) and David (south of the river) are exhausted from a long year. This year our boss Patrick attended an online training session with Steinway on ‘Spirio’ maintenance. During the training session Patrick had the opportunity to meet other Steinway technicians around Asia/Oceania and learn about the electronic side of the these pianos.
