“BACKSTORIES FROM A SOUNDTRACK TO LIFE”: Album Pre-launch at intimate Artisan Music Studios Event….

In early May, a celebration took place for the forthcoming release of the album “Backstories for a Soundtrack to Life” with an exclusive launch party at Artisan Music Studios. The relaxed event brought together a small private gathering of media representatives, influencers, friends, TV/Film professionals, and some of the artists who contributed to the album’s unique sound produced by the veteran Composer/Producer Paul Frazer Clarke.

As guests arrived, they were ushered into our ‘Foundry’ room which was transformed for the night with ambient lighting and cosy bean bag seating areas, setting the tone for a laid-back evening.

All project stages carried out at Artisan…

The album was entirely recorded and mixed at Artisan by Patrick, Simon and Paul and is the second major album project to be completed at Artisan over the last few weeks. A clear sign of the growing popularity and high regard that our studio is attaining.

The Album is based on Paul’s 45 years of musical influences…

Back to the evening itself….. the broad soundscape nature of the new album is reflected through the infusion of influences ranging from Sting and Stanley Clarke to PM Dawn, Steely Dan and Pink Floyd.

Craft beer and wine flowed as attendees got a first listen to the genre-blending tracks. Several of the featured guest musicians were on hand to discuss their collaborative roles on the project overseen by Clarke, a producer with over 30 years of experience in pop, film, TV and media music. Singer/songwriter Castle Hughes spoke about lending vocals to the Joni Mitchell inspired “At The Wise Words Café” while session drummer Ryan Daunt broke down his free improvisational parts woven throughout the hectic psychedelic rock tune “Ethermorphic Wanderlust”. Both Castle Hughes and Ryan Daunt (pictured below) are regulars at Artisan with both recently recording tracks for their respective projects.

“Working at Artisan is an absolute pleasure”…

The event’s relaxed, communal atmosphere struck a chord with attendees, many of whom had not previously experienced all that Artisan Music Studios has to offer. Paul commented “Working at Artisan is an absolute pleasure. It’s a facility that has everything you realistically need for a great creative working environment. In my younger days I was fortunate to have recorded in several major studios in London and this environment is, in many ways, similar to those earlier experiences.

The guys have reinvested in the tech recently, and this album has benefitted from the recent addition of Solid State Logic mixing facilities, both virtual and physical, along with SSL’s array of fantastic virtual effects processors. I’d seriously recommend Artisan for any WA artists or those looking for a virtual mixing partner”.

Radio Circus Music Production…

Paul and Artisan owner Patrick also have a Music Composition & Production company ‘Radio Circus Music’ which has recently completed projects for film and broadcast media, with all work undertaken at Artisan.

The evening was all about kick-back vibes and a palpable appreciation for artistic collaboration. If the warm reception from last night’s attendees is any indication, the album is set to earn Paul a broad audience when it officially releases across all platforms towards the end of this month.
